March 25, 2013 Recouping from the motorcycle trip. Finally warmed-up, and getting my head & body back to a schedule/routine. Picking up pieces of life & work; and reflecting on the trip. This is a map of where I traveled through. Roughly 7,000 miles ridden in 11 days ..I may add that 3 of those days I stayed around in the Jacksonville area. 😉 Some of the highlights: – Making new LD riding friends at the Iron Butt gathering; and learning some new tips and gear to get. – No problems with the performance/state of the bike what-so-ever. Gotta love Gold Wings! – No bike parts rattled-off and lost on this trip (as in the past). – Putting 6.752 gallons of gas into a 6.6 gallon tank. I HAD to be riding into that gas station on fumes! lol Note: I store an extra gallon of gas in the saddlebag; just in case. – Dinner in FL with my sister, Autumn. – Lunch in CA with my buddy, Mike. – Speeding up the traffic-less I-8W in the mountains of CA ..in the 3 AM hour 😉 – Temperatures ranging from a high of 90 (TX) to a low of 30 (OH). – High cross winds in Oklahoma (my least favorite weather condition; tiring!). – Driving rains all afternoon in Arkansas; then snow at night! – 1,100 miles in 17.5 hours from NY to FL. – 1,500 miles in 23 hours from East Texas to San Diego. – And.. from the beach in FL to the beach in CA in 47 hours. 😎 I’d like to thank everyone for their support, help, suggestions, comments, and sharing the experience. Overall, a great trip. Would I do it again, if I had to go back and choose? ..Yes 😉
